Application procedures for the school year 2020-2021

 2020-2021 Application guidelines

Eligibility:

2’s – Born on or before August 31, 2018
3’s – Born on or before December31, 2017

Admission policies:

The school will consider the following criteria if the number of applicants exceeds the number of vacancies, but placement is not guaranteed.

  • Children of staff employed at Gigamind Education Foundation.
  • Interview performance.
  • Living in nearby districts or districts where school bus is accessible.

Submission of application forms:

  1. The school will only accept online applications during the application period. (Late applications will not be accepted).
  2. Information required for online application:
    • The child’s birth certificate
    • A recent photo of the child
  3. An application fee of HK$40 is to be paid during the first interview. (Payable by crossed cheque to ‘Gigamind Kindergarten’. Please write the applicant’s name on the back of the cheque. Cash will not be accepted.)

Interview arrangement:

1st Interview
  • Observation of the child’s performance in a group activity.
  • 40% of the total number of candidates will enter the 2nd interview for the year 2020-2021 based on the performance of the 1st interview.
2nd Interview
  • An individual interview with parents and their child.
  • Decision of placement will be made according to the interview performance together with the admission policies stated above.
  • The school will decide the allocation of classes based on the interview performance.

Remarks:

  • The result of application acceptance is not based on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • All applicants will have an opportunity to attend the 1st interview according to the given date and time.
  • The interview results are for the school’s internal reference and will not be released to the public (applicants included).
  • Interview dates and results will be sent through email.
  • The ‘waiting list’ will be filed at the school. A random draw will be held for any vacancies. The school will not accept any form of self-recommendation letter.
  • All submitted documents and fees will not be returned whether your application is successful or not.
